If someone has been drinking alcoholically and stops for treatment, how long after stopping will it (alcohol) continue to show up in urine screens? Thank you.
The ethanol disposal rate in a 150-pound human is about 0.5 ounce of ethanol per hour, which corresponds to 12 ounces of beer (1 can), 4 ounces of wine (1 glass), or once ounce of hard liquor (one shot). So, depending on how much you've had to drink, you can calculate how long it will take to clear the alcohol so that it doesn't show up in a urine screen.

Question - If I consumeed 3 vodka drinks and I am 117lbs and I have a urine alcohol screen 36 hours later - will the alcohol or by-products be in my urine?

I understand that alcohol leaves the body at 0.5 ounces an hour for an average drink if you're 150 lbs. If I'm 300 lbs does that make the process twice as long? (E.g., leaving the body at 0.25 ounces an hour doubling the number of hours.)
Thank you...

I am doing some research on a recent termination of an employee. Her breath alcohol level was .028 and confirmed at .022. At what rate does a person's breath alcohol rate lower per hour? This employee had already been working 2.5 hours and we are wondering what her breath alcohol level would have been 2.5 hours earlier.

I drank approximatley nine beers between two pm and nine pm. Would I pass a urine screen? At one pm the following day?

Wait wait wait - the rate which your liver filters your BLOOD is what is listed here. Once your kidneys have cleared the all the alcohol fluid you are clear, but I also am trying to find out a more precise answer.
Therefore it is possible to consume quite a bit of alcohol, and while you would fail a breathalizer or blood test while driving to your urine screen, you could pass the urine screen [granted you adequately hydrate yourself, or over-hydrate with a lot of water to be safe]

My son drinks often 4-8 beers in the evening after work. He and his wife are having a baby. I have counceled him about drinking. He is only 24 and has 2 DUI's. I have given him a scenerio if his wife needs him for an emergency during the evening he would not be able to drive her. He has told us that "he can sober up quickly if that happens". I am insistant that the BAC would still be in his system even though the emergency may make him feel an adrenalin rush. He would still register a high BAC and be considered DUI. Please give me some facts to help persuade him to reconsider drinking and prevent his drinkng and driving.

My sister-in-law had an accident. Her urine screening for BAC showed 151.7 (it only has to show a reading of 20 to read positive.) What would this read on a breath test?

I've become subject to random UA's which is fine with the exception of the fact that I'm bein screened for alcohol which is not illegal to consume. What I'm wondering is how long it realistically takes for ethanol to leave my system? I would like to be able to have an occasional drink, but don't want to jeopardize failing. Any info would be appreciated.

If I drank 5 20 oz. beers and the last one I drank was about 11:30 p.m. and I weigh 210 pounds if I take a urine test the following day around 5:00 p.m. will it come out dirty and is there anything to clean out the alcohol quicker?
